ABOUNDING IN HOPE
These prints are primarily inspired by two key Biblical verses:
Romans 15:13 | Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3:16 | And when Yeshua was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him;
Borrowing the imagery from Yeshua’s baptism, here I imagine the heavens opening up to dispatch a flock of doves to descend upon the lives of new believers. Though the world is an increasingly dark and wicked place, there is currently a powerful movement of the Spirit taking place, with countless scores of people waking up to an understanding of the importance of obediently living out the whole Word of God. This is a fulfillment of the scriptures unfolding in our lifetime and it is incredibly exciting to witness! Just as the angels in Heaven, I celebrate what the Father is doing in expanding His Kingdom!
Luke 15:7 | "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
Luke 15:10 |"Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
The textured, layered backgrounds of these prints are monotypes printed off a Gelli plate. I carved an easy-cut block print for each of the individual birds. And finally, I enhanced the images with colored pencils, white gel pen, and sharpies.
Each of these 8” x 10” prints are available for $220 and come frame ready in an 11” x 14” white mat.
