THE ASCENSION OF YESHUA
The main idea of this final drawing was to address the boldness in which the Gospel was shared after Yeshua rose from the grave. The first thing that came to my mind was Yeshua giving his disciples the Great Commission before he ascended into Heaven to return to his Father (Luke 24:51). Yeshua gave them purpose that day, telling his disciples, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. (Matthew 28:19-20) The fact that I am today a believer in Yeshua the Messiah is a result of the obedience of those eleven men. And we need to have the same commitment to this objective; we need to share the Good News of Christ so that others can experience his transformative love.
This painting practically drew itself it came out of me so easily, and I am convinced that was the power of the Holy Spirit working within me to guide and direct my mind and hands. Yeshua is peacefully ascending to his Father while the eleven remaining apostles can faintly be seen below still looking up, watching him, and worshiping him. And here they set a great example for us all. We should always have praise and worship in our mouth our eyes on Christ. We need to always be watching. (Mark 13:35-37)
