Cleanse Me
This small painting is the second version of a piece that was originally inspired by the chorus of a song by Todd Agnew, Grace Like Rain
"And Hallelujah, grace like rain
Falls down on me
And Hallelujah and all my stains
Are washed away, they're washed away"
The imagery seeks to capture the humbling moment every believer has experienced as they are cleansed from all the filth that had previously contaminated their souls. Psalms 51 describes this process beautifully.
Psalms 51:1-2 | Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.
