This painting was the second canvas in what was to become the "Joyflow" series. Initially, I was just trying to create something similar to what I had done in Genesis. I was not thinking religiously at this point, however, I was still being inspired by the complexity of the human body. I was trying to create something even more intricate than the last painting and added a third "strand". About half way through this canvas I decided it would make a great present for my brother who had recently remodeled his living room, hence the title "Gift". Later, after completing the Epiphany painting and realizing these canvases were spiritually motivated, the Gift title took on a double meaning for me. It was then I added the Bible verse about the gift of the Holy Spirit to the title. Acts 2:38, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,  and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." This also became part of the gift I was giving to my brother.
