JOSHUA
& THE CONQUEST OF JERICHO
Israel’s period of conquest is represented here by Joshua and the toppled walls of the city of Jericho. (Joshua 6). For six days Joshua circled the city with armed troops and priests blowing trumpets. It was on the seventh day, which is depicted here, that God promised to deliver the city unto them. A Levite priest is shown blowing his horn in the foreground while Joshua calls out for his troops to give shout which causes the walls of the city to come crashing down. This historical account, which has extensive archeological evidence, is a brilliant example of God’s provision when we are simply willing to be obedient in whatever he calls us to do; even when is sounds completely illogical.
