The Most High (Psalm 47:2)
This painting is the first in a sub-series of "portraits" I'm planning that showcase each of the individual lines in the Joyflow series. These portraits are intended to act as a sort of "legend" or "key" for interpreting the symbolism that continues to develop as I explore my Christian faith through this collection of colored lines and forms. In this first portrait of God, who is always represented by the yellow and orange line, I wanted to create something that spoke of his majesty and strength, of his unquestionable presence in all our lives. The verse that accompanies the painting describes him quite succinctly, "For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth."
