"My Father's House (John 14:1-4)"
This edition of gelatin prints are inspired by an exciting promise made by Yeshua in the first four verses of John 14,
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
I absolutely love thinking about and looking forward to what Heaven will be like. I understand that it will be so far outside of what my earthly mind can presently imagine, but it keeps me motivated through the struggles of day to day life. So when I started thinking about images to represent Heaven, I immediately felt like I didn't even want to try and create something that would be a literal representation. I decided instead to focus on something that seemed recognizably familiar and yet strange and other worldly. Heaven will be a literal, physical place with actual, honest-to-goodness buildings and cities we inhabit. And Yeshua has promised to prepare a place in it specifically for us. How unbelievably exciting is that? The God who created us, and knows us better than we know ourselves is making the perfect future home for you. Wow. I cannot wait!

There are eleven prints in this series. Each of print is a monotype, meaning an original, one-of-a-kind image, printed off of a gelatin plate. All of the prints in the edition are nearly identical in composition, however, each one has its own subtle, unique qualities. (For anyone interested, a gallery with all eleven prints is coming soon.)
