In early 2013 I had the opportunity to coordinate an exhibition of Christian artwork which was on display at Warehouse 414 in Topeka during February and March.. The goal of the exhibit was to fill the tremendous spaces of Warehouse 414 with artwork that acknowledged the Lord Jesus Christ and praised our Heavenly Father. I intended the exhibit to function as an act of worship in which a body of artists came together to use the gifts God has given us to glorify his name and be a witness to the city in which he has placed us.
Over 30 artists from Topeka, Holton, Auburn, Berryton, Burlingame, and even Farmington, Missouri had work on display, including an exhibition of student artwork. The show included painting, printmaking, sculpture, fabric, mixed media, photography, and more. Many of the artists also took the time to write very personal artist statements that shared their faith and how it related to the artwork they created. You can view a sampling of the exhibit's work in the gallery below.
