TURNING TO TORAH
I've recently started this YouTube channel which is focused on lovingly and humbly exploring important aspects of our Hebraic faith and encouraging all believers, particularly those still in the mainstream church, to learn to show love to the Father through obedience to his Torah. My goal is to keep most of the videos under 15 minutes, making them easy to share and discuss with friends and family.
You can watch all of the videos below, or by clicking on the logo to visit the Turning To Torah YouTube Channel. For anyone interested, you can also download PDF copies of the scripts for each video. Even casual students of the Bible are readily familiar with the number of parables and prophecies speaking of the Good Shepherd and His dedicated attention to every one of the sheep in His flock. Most of us easily identify with that lost sheep who mindlessly wandered off and needed saving. We understand the peace and comfort that only comes from having been found by our shepherd and reunited with the flock. And therein lies a critically important point that I had somehow overlooked for nearly a decade. Who is the flock? And who am I amongst them?

This video investigates common themes associated with the Tree of Life as it appears in both the Garden of Eden and in the New Jerusalem. The Book of Revelation reveals critically important details concerning how believers will one day gain access to the fruit of the Tree of Life, which causes one to live forever. As we all eagerly await the blessed hope of our Savior’s return, this is an issue of key importance for modern believers to understand.

Throughout history, many have speculated on what Mark of the Beast mentioned in the book of Revelation will actually be and how these prophecies will ultimately be fulfilled. Understanding the motivation for the Mark of the Beast is perhaps more important than being able to predict how it will one day manifest. In fact, truly understanding the reasoning behind the Mark of the Beast provides the best strategy for avoiding it, no matter what form it eventually takes.

The book of Revelation contains two future prophetic verses which clearly teach that believers who resist the attacks of Satan and patiently endure the tribulation will do so both through their faith in Jesus and by keeping the commandments of God. These verses alone should inspire every follower of Christ to take a very serious look at what they believe regarding obedience to our Heavenly Father’s instructions. If the future saints demonstrate their patient endurance by keeping the law of God during the unimaginably difficult times of the tribulation, why would we as contemporary believers not be expected to do the same? This is indeed a question that needs prayerful consideration and diligent study.

An investigation into the Biblical requirement for all believers to wear tassels and an individual testimony of the struggle with coming to obedience on this command. There is much to discover about this seemingly odd little instruction as well as a fascinating connection to the example our Messiah gave for us to follow.

There is a common misconception that the Israelites were worshipping false gods when they created the Golden Calf and bowed down and offered sacrifices unto it. In reality, the Israelites never intended or even attempted to worship false gods and a careful reading of Exodus 32 makes that quite clear. This video seeks to uncover the significance of the Golden Calf and shares a personal testimony on how it confronted me with a spiritual dilemma that changed much about how I practiced and celebrated my own faith.

In Philippians 2:12, Paul tells his readers to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling. This can be an incredibly challenging verse that often provokes a number of uncomfortable questions about our relationship with the Most High God and our appreciation of the Messiah’s sacrifice. Come explore why this perspective on salvation is critically important for modern Bible believers to understand.

King Solomon’s life was one of excess. He was gifted with the greatest portion of wisdom directly from the Most High God and afforded the opportunity to taste nearly everything this life has to offer. In the end, he advised that that the wisest thing a person can do is fear God and obey his commandments. This is an incredibly significant point for modern day believers to consider.

A humble recognition of the unimaginable magnitude and limitless power of our Creator is an essential component for true wisdom. When we begin to fully appreciate the infinite wisdom of our Heavenly Father, it should inspire a reverent fear and respect of him. This awe-inspiring knowledge should lead us to a place where we humbly recognize that the only thing we can do with this life that makes any sense is submitting to and obeying the one who made us. The Bible repeatedly teaches that true wisdom is found only through a genuine Fear of the Lord.

Acts chapter 10 records a vision given to Peter in which a great sheet was lowered from Heaven containing a variety of animals Upon seeing this vision, he also heard a voice ordering him, “Rise Peter, kill and eat.” The accounts of this vision are often used as evidence to claim that Jesus abolished the Old Testament dietary laws outlined in Leviticus 11 and that all animals are now free to be eaten. However, a proper understanding of this vision can be gained by simply reading the entire chapter in context and allowing scripture to explain itself.

Our Messiah stated that the most important commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. But how exactly do we express our love and gratitude to the Father? The Bible is actually surprisingly clear and consistent on explaining exactly how we can communicate in our Heavenly Father’s love language.

When we are saved by grace through faith we are adopted into the family of God and become siblings with the children of Israel. As such, we are fellow heirs to both the blessings and the curses connected to the covenant the Most High made with his people. This is an issue of fundamental importance for all believers to understand. Romans 11 is a key passage in explaining the significance of the role gentiles play in our Heavenly Father's plan, as well as our place in his family.

It is undeniable that we are saved by grace through faith. However, when we come to faith in Messiah, there are good works that our Heavenly Father prepared beforehand that He expects us to walk in. In fact, scripture repeatedly teaches that good works should be the natural result of our faith. This video explores a handful of key verses and seeks to provide clarity on how our Heavenly Father expects His children to walk out their faith.

In 2018, I was blessed to be a part of a unique sermon series at Western Hills Church in Topeka, KS. The series, entitled “The Jesus I Wish You Knew”, explored 5 different words that identify the unique person of Jesus Christ through the artwork of 5 different artists. My painting was the first in the series and was based on the word “Incarnate.” This is the video of me speaking at the church service the day the painting was unveiled.
This video tries to patiently and lovingly investigate the actual proper names of both the Father and the Son. It seeks to bring some clarity on the history behind them and the significance of the names themselves. Above all, the video seeks to unify believers regarding the many pronunciations and encourages us all to draw closer to the Father and Son by embracing the importance of their names.
